NEWS, VIEWS & TRUTHS (22ND – 26TH JAN)

Published on: January 26, 2018

Friday is now amongst us; the dim glow of the weekend is getting brighter by every second and like night follows day, here is another week at Three Counties.

This week the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, hosts the Illuminati world’s political and business leaders in order that they can go on the lash for four days discuss the most pressing issues facing the world at this current time.

Naturally, with the world’s most powerful people in attendance, focus shifts to Donald Trump’s address on Friday.  The question on everyone’s lips is “what he is going to say?”; why is this even a question?

Simply put, it’s the first time he has ever been to Davos.  Despite the event having been run since 1971 and Mr Trump being a notable businessman in his own right, he has never been invited.  As the New York Times wrote, “never accepted, never respected, he remained on the outside pressing his nose against the window of the club of elites he both revered and resented.”  And now he arrives, not just as a mere businessman, but as the leader of the free world.  As such, he may go “full Trump”.

“Part of him will feel the resentment that has long smouldered within and part will revel in the fact that he’s the president and no one else is,” said Michael D’Antonio, a Trump biographer. “Considering his tendency to say or tweet whatever comes to mind, we might expect both Trumps — the testy one and the triumphant one — to appear. We may even see and hear him toggle between the two, uncertain if he’s superior or inferior.”

Anyway, we shall see.  Moving on…

Obviously all my readers know 50 Cent. You don’t?  Let me furnish you with a quick pen profile.

Curtis James Jackson III, known professionally as 50 Cent, is an American rapper and actor, who came to fame in 2002 after fellow rapper Eminem signed him for his record label.  He became one of the world’s bestselling rappers, selling 30 million albums worldwide and winning a Grammy award.

However, like investments, values can fall as well as rise and in 2015, 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy with a debt of over $32million.  Prior to this event in 2014 however, he let people buy his newly released album, Animal Ambition, using bitcoin, pulling in $400,000 which since then has laid dormant within his bitcoin account.  With his professional and financial life in tatters, he naturally forgot about this account.  Until this week.

After leaving the account untouched, those bitcoin are now worth $8.5 million.

And now for what everyone tunes in for.  This week’s playlist is by yours truly and although those of you who know my musical preferences may not be surprised at my selections, hopefully they may put a smile on your face and possibly a spring in your step.  Either way, it’s Friday! Have a great weekend.
