NEWS, VIEWS & TRUTHS (16TH DEC – 20TH DEC)

Published on: December 20, 2019

Welcome one and all to the final News, Views and Truths of 2019.  Hasn’t it flown by!

From a market perspective, it’s been pretty darn good.

If we assume that the long term returns for equity is in the range of 8% per year, the chart above puts 2019 into perspective.  And the post-election surge has changed the Santa-rally into the Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA-rally.  Long may this continue.

Looking into 2020, many investment banks are pointing to a very positive year.  As ever, I shall be digesting my forecasts with copious amounts of salt, continuing to focus upon a steady, sensible approach to our investment portfolios.  It is all I know and so could not change this if I tried.

Signing off 2019 is a rather momentous event for us all at Three Counties.  The retirement of Peter West and subsequently joining the Greaves West and Ayre family has been the biggest event in the company’s 30-year history.  However, I cannot stress how successful this has been, not only for all of us involved in the transition, but for all staff and most importantly, clients.

2020 offers us more opportunity to do what we are really, really good at.  That is delivering the best possible service to our clients, ensuring that their financial plans and investment portfolios continue to meet all of their objectives, no matter what comes around the corner.

I’d like to take this opportunity to personally thank all my colleagues for continuing to make Three Counties a fantastic place to work.

Secondly, I’d like to say thank you to all the professionals that Three Counties work with, for the benefit of our clients.  You all add to the service that we strive to deliver and you all do it so well.

And finally, a thank you to all Three Counties clients.  We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working with you and your families through 2020 and beyond.

So that’s 2019 done with; bring on 2020.  As a quick reminder, we close the office on Monday 23rd and will reopen on Thursday 2nd January at 9am.  All of us at Three Counties wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a joyful and fulfilling New Year.
