Webinar: The Bank of England – Business Conditions and the UK Economy, September 28th

Published on: September 13, 2022

Join us for the latest insights on the performance of the UK and global economies.

During past months, the UK economy has seen conditions not seen for a generation.  Naturally these have had, and continue to have, an effect – for the remainder of 2022 and beyond.
We are delighted to have the opportunity, along with our sister company, Greaves West & Ayre, to welcome back Mauricio Armellini from the Bank of England to provide the Bank’s latest insights on the performance of the UK and global economy and, most helpfully, to take any questions you may have*.

Mauricio will present the Bank of England’s reflections on the past year and provide an update on their latest insights and how these may continue to impact us throughout 2022 and into the years ahead. The conflict in Ukraine, soaring energy prices, inflation, the squeezed labour market and consumer confidence are all topics that are fighting for the news headlines.

This event allows you to understand current business challenges and gain an insight into the Bank’s current thinking on economic conditions.

About your speaker, Mauricio Armellini
Mauricio has been a member of the Government Economic Service since 2008, when he joined the Department for Work and Pensions. In 2013 he went on secondment to the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, where he worked as Chief Economist until his appointment as Bank of England’s Agent for the North East in September 2014. Mauricio came to the North East in 2005 to undertake his PhD studies in economics at Durham University, following his MA in Development Economics at Williams College (USA). Before leaving his native Uruguay in 2004, he worked as a professional economist in the financial and non-for-profit sectors.
