Meet the Team… Wilma Watson

Published on: October 14, 2020

As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’re introducing you to Wilma Watson, Personal Assistant to our Directors.

During lockdown and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which is making ‘face-to-face’ meetings impossible, and we’re all used to meeting each other as pixels on Zoom now, we thought it’d be great to give you a little insight into all of our team from their lockdown bases.

Wilma came to Three Counties around 1993.  She recalls:

“During my interview Peter West said it was ‘just a little bit of typing, filing and answering the telephone’, it turned out to be so much more.”

Wilma remained at Three Counties for 14 years before moving on to develop new skills, still within Financial Services.  She always had a soft spot for Three Counties and after being away for 9 years returned 3 years ago to take up a position as the Personal Assistant to the Directors, a position that encompasses quite a wide variety of tasks.

Wilma says:

“My typical day starts with downloading the daily price feeds.

“After that, it is really just a matter of dealing with anything else that crops up, it is a busy office and there is any number of things going on each day.

“My experience on the administration side of things allows me to act as a guide to the team to ensure continuity is maintained.”

Wilma says her reward is working with a happy team who always have a positive attitude to their work.  Clients also play a big part in Wilma’s working life. Over the years they have come to know her and have confidence in her.

What’s your passion outside of work?
Don’t have a passion, quite happy to just bumble along with whatever life throws at me.
