NEWS, VIEWS & TRUTHS (29TH OCT – 2ND NOV)

Published on: November 2, 2018

The sun is out, the sky is blue. There’s not a cloud to spoil the view. And it’s Friday; welcome to News, Views and Truths.

This week’s piece is a rather special one, being that Three Counties held its annual client day at Beamish Hall yesterday. For all of you that attended, many many thanks for your time.

Hopefully you found the talk on Brexit by the excellent David Urch of Garraway Capital Management of interest; certainly, it is pleasing to see such a positive outlook on such a permanently negative topic.

As noted during the presentation, the remainder of today’s blog will be pictures taken at the event; no prizes for spotting yourself apart from the kudos. Although I will make one point…

Remember when I was talking? Remember when I said that the issues surrounding the recent market fall were essentially man-made. Remember when I said that if the market sees a potential resolution to the issues, we could see a significant rally?

Well…

This headline greeted me, along with the news that Asian and Emerging Market indices have rallied some 5% overnight, this morning. Furthermore, futures markets are pointing to a similar start to today’s trading; developed markets are also up, with the FTSE 100 +0.83% at the time of writing.

Remember me saying that the worst days and the best days tend to happen in close proximity? It’s like I actually have a clue what I am talking about…

Anyway, enough of the boring stuff, onto pictures and this week’s playlist, supplied by Martin Howe of Three Counties. Have a super-duper weekend and I shall see you all next week.
